The Chlorine System

There are various forms of chlorine in the market. Each one requires us to adjust and adapt to the requirements needed. Here is a list of the 3 most popular forms of chlorine.
  1. Chlorine Tablets: By far the most popular form used. This form slowly dissolves and is ideal for the daily chlorine requirement of most pools.
  2. Granulated Chlorine: Quick to dissolve and direct dosage are this form’s best attributes.
  3. Liquid Chlorine: The most popular form when speed is of the essence. It offers instant action.

Chlorine in tablet and granulated form has many advantages. Among these advantages we find that it is a 100% effective germicide and algaecide, long lasting, integrated stabilizer, soluble, compact, safe, and it maintains the water’s pH.

Chlorine in liquid form is very effective, and completely soluble.

The Salt System

The salt system is a smart alternative for sanitizing pools and offers significant advantages.

The Salt system main advantages include 100% savings on all chlorine and chlorine based products, reduced risks for homeowner and operator due to less chemical handling, salt is a natural antiseptic and will not stain bathing suits or effect hair, no irritation to skin or eyes, and no chlorine odors or taste.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or are interested in purchasing a salt system for your pool.

Proper Pool Levels

As widely used and popular chlorine is, it is not the exclusive element in the proper maintenance of your pool. Other chemicals are used such as sodium bicarbonate, muriatic acid, algaecides, and several others.

A properly balanced pool should range, in most cases, within the following levels:

• Chlorine between 1 and 3 ppm.
• pH between 7.2 and 7.6.
• Hardness between 200 and 400 mg/l.
• Alkalinity between 80 and 150 mg/l.

Besides chemicals; filtration is extremely important. Your pool pump and filtration system needs to run for a minimum of 8 hours every day. This will ensure proper purification and disinfection for a healthy pool.
